Before Sunset
How much love can you receive from and put into one moment in time? What does that do to you? And how much would you leave behind or ignore to recapture it all?
I loved Before Sunset because it really digs in. This film matured with our characters, diving us into their emotions surrounding growth, love, and trying to move on from the past. Two particular sequences had me captivated by the authenticity of the our mains' performances and the emotionally rich dialogue they were executing. And even though my first reaction to the ending was not too great, I feel & understand a certain power and sense of acceptance that those last lines of dialogue unveil; showing us what this whole movie was for. What Jesse & Celine likely set out to do the moment they reconnected.
Absolutely top tier. I think it takes longer to get into than Before Sunrise in that it's a little less charismatic at first, but the filmmakers and actors trusted the screenplay. They allowed this organic interaction to unfold into something captivating for its viewers. Can rewatch this multiple times. A gem in film.
