Problemista

Problemista is a beautifully strange little gem that’s uniquely its own thing. Julio Torres finds an amazing balance between a world that seems all too real while also feeling absurd and otherworldly. Not only is this a solid commentary of the broken US immigration system it’s a movie that is not afraid to be itself. It’s weird, funny, and quietly heartbreaking. This film is a love letter to dreamers and artists and it encourages us to chase after those dream no matter how almost impossibly far they seem. I’m truly excited to see what Julio Torres does next, he has such a unique and creative style.
