Arrival

I don’t remember how I felt at the end of the movie the first time I watched it, but this time around I was tearing up and just thinking about how beautiful it is that she chooses life and love even though they’re both going to end. My dad doesn’t love the ending because he disagrees with her choice to still do everything despite the bad ways they end, but I guess that’s what makes the ending that much more impactful to me. Because it isn’t an easy decision, and I don’t think I know what’s right or wrong in this situation. But it’s the one she made and it’s one that is reasonable for many humans to make. We all deserve and crave love, and love is worth it even if it ends.
