Bones and All
It has been two weeks since I have watched this absolutely legendary piece of cinema and I cannot get it off my mind. No doubt, Bones and All is flawed; like many Guagdagnino’s but in my book it’s still absolute perfection, my generation's Badlands.
I can't lie, I tried to watch it the night before I ended up restarting it/watching it fully, but I just was unable to get through the first 10 minutes. The opening scene caught me way off guard.
But when I didn't pussy out of all the uncomfortable scenes I was left in awe at the profound depth Bones and All has under the mask of canibalism.
Luca Guagdagnino masterfully uses cannibalism as a curtain to mask the many hidden metaphors in Bones and All. What we inherit from our parents, dependency one another... the list goes on. Just absolute, sheer, perfection as a film for me.
100% I get why people don’t like this, but I looooooove beautifully devastating films like these so it just clicked, almost instantly! One of my favorite endings ever.
"Let's be people."
