Overall a good thriller about the death of privacy in the digital age and the exploitation/objectification of artists in the entertainment industry specifically when it comes to women. The reason it’s not five stars for me is the graphic depiction of sexual assault. Although it does make a point, the graphic, drawn-out, and frequent, appearances of it throughout the movie ultimately feel exploitative and unnecessary. Especially when you consider the movie was made by a man. I think there were other ways they could’ve included sexual assault in the narrative without blatantly showing on screen that arguably could’ve been even more effective and haunting.
