Challengers

‘ i was a homewrecker ‘ absolute cinema. guadagnino does it again. he has to be one of my favourite directors now, i knowwww i know its a basic choice but his films have everything i want and love in them. a beautiful and really intimate storyline, incredible direction with some really immersive & unique shots and an engaging but slightly comforting setting. ‘challengers’ is just another guadagnino film that has checked all three of those boxes for me. regrettably, i was a little distracted with other activities while watching this, so will probably rewatch soon. but goddamn was this a great film it is just so awesomely nuanced which makes it intesnse, comedic and emotional all at once! i’d definitely reccommend this film to people, especially to aspiring directors or screenwriters. i’m really mad at myself for not watching it sooner! also can i just say. i’ve only ever seen zendaya in spiderman and maybe a few other minor roles and OMG was she amazing in this, she just became her character so enthusiastically, a lot of younger actors & actresses nowadays seem to play the same person in every movie they star in but not my queen zendaya, she couldn’t of been better. never thought i’d see MJ as a tennis obsessed hoe but here i am !
