God damn. That last shot had me leaning all the way forward in my fucking seat. Showing how different people react to traumas that fascist regimes inflict upon them, the mental and physical scars that will never go away. How do you move forward? If you hate them, do they win? If you have the opportunity, should you take your revenge? If you do, have they brought you down to your level? If you don’t, will you ever sleep peacefully, wondering if they’ll come back? So much to think about. It’s not his fault. They just jumped out in front of him. It was just an accident. He was just following orders.

I’ve been wanting to watch this for years but for whatever reason I was having a hard time getting invested in it. I think I really needed to see more of the characters before shit goes sideways to really like understand their dynamic and what their plans/goals are. And honestly Benny’s performance as Nick really rubbed me the wrong way. They claim they were looking for neurodiverse actors to take on the role but were worried the shoot would be too demanding for someone with a genuine intellectual disability, but… I dunno. Seems like they could have looked a little harder and just spoken to their prospective performers about what shooting will look like. Rob Pattinson was excellent as usual of course. 52 week challenge- week 46: sibling story

In a movie about a mother and daughter randomly body swapping on an ooky spooky Friday the 13th, Jodie Foster liking a boy is still the most unbelievable part. I’ve loved the Lindsay Lohan remake of this since it came out, but I’ve never seen the original. It was really fun, but the end gets a little too complicated for its own good. The lead actresses are great and it also boggles my mind that Jodie Foster did this and Taxi Driver in the same year lmao. 52 week movie challenge- week 45: a movie with “day” in the title
