Prisoners

This was scarily good ‘Prisoners’ is a real psychological thriller, more than most in the genre I’d say. I think alot of us would watch this and say that “I wouldn’t react like this” but I know we all would be lying to ourselves. I find this film really starves you of any satisfaction. The set design and the whole look of this film is second to none and very fitting, I can’t say I’ve seen a film that does as well as this one. The use of rain was also a great touch but I haven’t really wrapped my head around what it symbolizes or if there is any symbolism to it. Gotta give Jake Gyllenhaal his flowers here, absolutely stunning performance and the same as Hugh Jackman, I liked him in ‘The Prestige’ and I felt like he was better here aswell. Everything here is perfect and this should be a film that other films study. I can’t wait to rewatch this because I’ve heard that you notice wayyyy more on the rewatch.
