Priscilla
This movie for me already had a point for just being directed and written by Sofia Coppola (which is a director really dera to me), and also because it's a biography of a woman that lived behind her husband's shadow.
I want to start by saying that I've watched first the film "Elvis" directed by Baz Luhrmann and then "Priscilla" directed by Sofia Coppola.
I couldn't help but notice how different the aesthetics of the two movies were. Of course that was because one focuses on the success of Elvis and the other focuses much more on the relationship between Priscilla and Elvis, picturing these two characters completely differently in the two movies.
In the movie "Elvis" we just see Priscilla as an obedient housewife and mother that is waiting for her husband's orders and always tries to please him.
While in "Priscilla" we can clearly see that Priscilla is much more than just a housewife and a mother, we can see that Priscilla is a woman with needs and wants, and we can see also how much Priscilla was insecure about becoming a mother but at the same time she wished to be a good mother for her daughter so bad.
I'm sorry to do a comparison between the two movies, but I can't imagine dividing the two stories, since they are the same from different points of view.
At the end, I can only say that I liked much more "Priscilla" compared to "Elvis", but this is just my opinion of course, probably also based on the aesthetics and the story of "Priscilla".
