honest to god, i enjoyed this one more than the first. plot-wise, it’s not as good as the first, but duplass’ acting really took this one over the edge for me. the bathroom monologue towards the end of the movie where he details his first kill was CHILLING. and while i didn’t necessarily feel the same dread i did the last thirty minutes of the first, i still enjoyed the ending. duplass and akhavan have great chemistry together, and i love how in the budding era of internet celebrity-ism this movie explores someone who’s willing to do a lot of things to create an enticing video to generate clicks. great movie!
