Sinners
What a movie! From reading reviews and watching some of the trailers I was ready to be blown away by this film but I wasn't ready for how much I enjoyed it.
From the very opening scene it grabs your attention and while the vampires do take a little while to show up I didn't really mind. This allowed for an actual story to be developed and by the time they did show I was already invested in every character.
The cinematography was beautiful and I could only wish to see this in IMAX. I also want to talk about the score because this Ludwig Göransson dude is actually insane. I loved his work in Oppenheimer (2023) and can't wait to see more of him. Plus I loved the way they told stories with only sound, super cool.
Ever since Black Panther (2018) I've been invested in Michael B. Jordan and am happy to see him give such a wonderful performance, probably the best of his entire career.
So yeah, this movie was lowkey peak.
