when you go to winnipeg but it’s iranian
the highways, parking lots, shoddy buses… all that concrete and empty space. it’s like winnipeg had some sort of quiet revolution within a cold & sprawling car-dominated canada. the hard infrastructure of the city quietly clashes with the colorful life within it. the film seems to politicize these marginal spaces, like the cemetery beside a highway, or the parking lot at dusk. shows how communities can repurpose hostile urban design through sheer persistence.

i’ve made it sound like a serious and romantic film, but it was really just hilarious & gorgeous. loved Agha Gamgosar and his turkey, they were texting. also loved persian tim hortons with the samovar ❤️ this could get five stars once i sit on it a little more..
