Minari
There isn't really a ton of movies where the score is noticeably good, but every time the score kicks in in Minari, it absolutely steals the show. The music and the cinematography in Minari are just... beautiful and stunning. It's something beautiful about such a slow-moving movie in a year where everybody's attention span drastically declined due to digital school and the rise of Tik Tok. Can't recommend this movie enough!
Update #1: I tag this movie foreign films although it essentially is as American as it gets simply because most of the dialogue is in a foreign language
Update #2 (post-oscars): HOW DID THIS NOT WIN BEST ORIGINAL SCORE? No hate to Soul, but Minari's score is something special. It's the only score that I've ever listened to beginning to end in a single sitting. Also shout out to Youn Yuh-jung for winning the only (somehow) Oscar for Minari.
