Adolescence
What a masterpiece of a miniseries Jack Thorne, Stephen Graham, and Philip Barantini have given us.
The one continuous take is pure perfection, creating an immersive, suffocating intensity that never lets up. The performances are phenomenal—Stephen Graham, as always, is on another level, but the real surprise is Owen Cooper, who delivers a breakout performance. Episode 3 is especially intense, ramping up the tension to almost unbearable levels, and Cooper’s acting completely blew me away.
Beyond its technical brilliance, this miniseries fearlessly explores the disturbing undercurrents of modern masculinity, particularly the toxic grip of incel culture. It doesn’t sensationalise or offer easy answers—instead, it presents a raw and unsettling portrait of loneliness, resentment, and the dangerous ideologies that fester in online spaces. The writing is razor-sharp, the tension relentless, and the emotional weight impossible to shake. This is storytelling at its most uncompromising—unsettling, thought-provoking, and impossible to ignore.
