GREATNESS. MY EYES HAVE BEEN BLESSED WITH GREATNESS. This film has everything going for it — stunning visuals, top-notch direction, a brilliant cast all bringing their A-game, a story that actually hits you in the chest… and as a horror film? It absolutely slaps. We get vampires, blood, wild sequences — what more could you want? Folklore? Yep. Historical references? Yep. It’s all in there. The way it uses vampires as a metaphor, mixing in cultural memory and true events, gives it this layered, textured feel that makes it stand out. It’s proper smart without ever feeling like it’s trying too hard. But the thing that really pushed it into masterpiece territory for me? The music. It’s unreal. From the Robert Johnson legend to the way it blends white Irish folk and Black American blues — it’s done so well. When people say the film’s about the blues, they mean it. Also, do not leave before the two post-credit scenes. They’re crucial for fully getting what the film’s saying. This one goes deeper than you’d expect — trust me.
