I actually have no clue what rating to give this movie, so i’m gonna take the easy way out and probably rewatch this sometime soon, but this was honestly pretty fucking good. The build up from the very start was brilliant and how it all led up to the prom scene, and this film honestly could’ve been a pretty good romance if Stephen King wasn’t cracked out while writing this book. The symbolism of Carrie’s mother saying her dress is red (the colour of satan) and then her ending up with a red dress covered in blood (I think) and killing people and destroying the prom was pretty peak in my humble opinion. The ending with her mother couldn’t have been more fitting with how much she talked about god and the collapse of her house kind of symbolizing a breaking point or the strength of Carrie’s telekinetic power. And holy fuck John Travolta is terrible in this I honestly don’t think i’ve seen a worse performance to this day.

This is an absolutely amazing film, but it got ruined for me because I honestly can’t stand when dead characters come back to life or get resurrected, something about it just ruins a lot for me. But, other than that this film is undeniably beautiful and expanding and creating more world building by including other Na’vi tribes was definitely something I had wanted to see after watching the first one. The addition of the Sully kids was great imo, it is a little awkward thinking about Sigourney Weaver who is much older than her character in this, talk like a child. But, still the resurrection of Quaritch and his squad just kinda made me dislike this whole film for a while, it did get better as the film went on but still, hate that they didnt get some kind of separate antagonists.

This one didn’t quite click with me, yes it’s colourful and for sure an experiment, but it definitely has its flaws. The CGI and special effects are striaght buns and yes I know this is from the late 70s, but I just couldn’t cut it some slack when watching it. The story is okay at best, I found it kind of disjointed and wacky. A majority of the characters are unlikeable and annoying which makes it hard to really give a fuck about them when they end up dying. A lot of people praise this film, but I guess i’m not one of them, but I may rewatch this too see if I like it any better in the future.

Me and my dad saw this on Tarantino’s top 20 of the 21st century, so I thought i’d watch it to see if it was really worthy. And this really is a top film, for having such a young cast this film really could’ve been make or break from the get go, but the cast works exceptionally well together with good dynamics and relationships across the forty sum students. Building off that the way that the film got to most of the characters out of the forty and showed their personalities was really unique and I feel if this were more modern it would generally focus on the depth and characteristics of around 8-10 characters. The early 2000s and 90s quality and camera work is also just so iconic not to bring up because this film looks really well cinematically. Also, the amount of things this could’ve inspired in modern life is crazy, stuff like the hunger games have obviously relating qualities to this film, but I personally think this film is better than any hunger games movie.
