Top tier film of 2021. Another gem from a24! Phoenix was so wholesome here with Norman. I love the dynamic between their characters. We don't often think about other forms of family dynamics. In the case, a bond between an uncle and nephew. Mike Mills films are so underrated (20th Century Women and Beginners). This is now my favourite Mike Mills film. Mills puts TLC with every character he writes. Every emotional beat was on point. Such a simple and heartwarming film. This might be my favourite modern black and white film since Frances Ha. I just want to hug this film🥺 Overall it's a wholesome film. Hoping this film gets all the love it deserves and Mills as a filmmaker as well.
