House

Holy peak I love this so much, this could actually be one of the most influential horror movies ever. Movies like Weapons, Monster House, etc take heavily from this movie. Don't get me started on the editing, some of the stuff done here is replicated in future movies. For example, in The Last Dragon they use the line tracing effect (used on Melody's hands while playing) almost 10 years later for the final fight (final fight against Shonuff and Leroy becomes a master). But that scene of the woman winking at the audience might be one of the most terrifying things I've ever seen. From the beginning the movie luls you into a false sense of security. I thought I was watching something like Swing Girls for a second. You see Mac's head and them eating it, but that's even shown to be silly. But when she winks at you it reminds the audience that no, this is actually a horror movie and both the girls and you are completely helpless. This is taken by Funny Games years later and used in a similar way. Final note: After doing martial arts for most of my childhood, Kung Fu is exactly who I wanted to be when I grew up. RIP to the goat Final Final note: this might be the absolute worst movie to get high too. I think I would tweak so hard
