The Shining
45 years later, and few films can hold a candle to The Shining.Yes, it's a classic. Yes, everyone has seen it. But if, somehow, you haven’t, it's time. I went in expecting an old horror movie. I left in awe of a masterpiece.
The beauty of this film caught me off guard. Watching Jack slowly unravel under the weight of the Overlook, the iconic "twins", and the “Here’s Johnny!” moment. It all felt larger than life.
Kubrick does more than tell a story. He is truly able to transport you. From the vivid yet cold corridors of the 70s to the elegance of the 1920s, he shifts between decades effortlessly.
Great movie.
