Fuck you I’m logging this during the intermission at five stars. Saw ts in 70mm and I’ve cried twice already. Genuinely why don’t they make movies like this anymore. What are we even fucking doing. Like movies don’t get better than this. If Stanley Kubrick knew that people wanted to make movies with HAL 9000 but objectively more evil and worse he’d kill us all.  Stanley Kubrick died for our sins. Greatest film of all time and you can’t ever convince me otherwise.

How in gods name was this made in 1958. The mother of all historical epics.

I actually cried during the last act of this film.  I’m not kidding when I say this might be the top 3 movies I’ve seen this year. It’s such an incredible portrait of the strange and beautiful ways we can let life lead us in the most beautiful directions if we simply let it. This movie exudes so much soul, so much love, so much heart. The characters… THE CHARACTERS ARE SO GOOD. I can truly feel each of the girls shine through at every moment in this film as I rooted for them the whole way through. Structurally flawless. Brilliant filmmaking. ALSO FUCKING HILARIOUS.
