did not know that this was an adaptation of a book until I was almost finished with it. now I wanna watch the Tarkovsky version and also read the book.

i really do enjoy some time travel shenanigans

a lot better on a rewatch and also hit a lot more in general. peter has always been a lonely character in a sense and I think that’s what has stuck with me the most. even with his side characters the concept of hiding your entire identity from the ones you love in an act to protect them can feel lonely. identity and fear has always plagued peter and I feel like we’re finally getting to a place where that’s a true. the scene in which peter is falling through the air after mj and ned’s party is something that really sticks out to me as in that moment he had a choice to either go back “home” or just drop. it reminds me of the suicide attempt in Fire and Ash however it’s not handled as well. still though it’s a scene that is very impactful to me.
