Mindwalk
"I want to tell you the ocean knows this, that life in its jewel boxes is endless as the sand, impossible to count."
Is this the greatest film ever made?
I think it might just be.
Everybody needs to see Mindwalk in their lives at some point (it's free on YouTube). The film contains one of the most engaging, intriguing, philosophical and intellectually stimulating conversations ever put on film and the fact you can only watch this in 480p in a square box makes it all the better.
The acting in Mindwalk is genuinely amazing, with immaculate line delivery being necessary for a film like this, Liv Ullman, Sam Waterston and John Heard definitely pull it off. The cinematography and directing here from Bernt Capra is also great, making anyone who sees it long to walk the paths of the beautiful Mont Saint-Michel and delve into all of the topics discussed in this movie.
Also, this film is almost never talked about, with a three minute summary video being the only piece of external media about it. Mindwalk deserves an hour long documentary and a Vinegar Syndrome 4k release with hours of bonus features. I cannot stress how much more this movie needs to be discussed.
Overall, Mindwalk is one of the best films ever made, dealing with problems and topics relevant in 1990 that unfortunately, are even more relevant today.
