The GameConnor 9.9· March 18, 2024FollowThe Game is arguably my favorite film of all time and of Fincher's filmography. This is a very hot take, I know that. This film's climax is very divisive. You either love or you hate it, and I love it. You can point towards this film's numerous plot holes, and sure they are there, but I once heard someone recommend to watch this film as if it's a comedy. Try it and maybe your opinion will change, but to me it's great either way. This is the film that introduced me to those great plot twist endings that ruled the 90's, and this might just be my favorite of them all. It's so outlandish that it works, and Nicholas being reunited with his brother minutes after believing he murdered him makes for an emotionally captivating ending. The snaking plot of this film with twist after twist makes for one of the most thrilling experiences in cinema. It is also interesting to see Fincher expand upon previous ideas and techniques. This film borrows a lot from Se7en and improves upon it whether that be particular shots, dialogue, or moments of tension that call back to Fincher's Se7en. Fincher's Se7en - The Game - Fight Club run in the 90's might just be the greatest ever.CommentsSign in to react and join the conversation.Sign inGet the app
