Proper tear jerker, exactly what you want when ur sat in the middle of a plane. Thought the actual relationship between Rachel mcaddams and gosling to be problematic and the weakest part, why was it just him who had to write the letters why couldn’t she write to him. Gosling gets away better than her as at least with the person he cheats on they know there is someone that he’s waiting for but her husband has no idea whatsoever, that being said it’s like comparing having diarrhoea in public to just shitting normally both are horrible.  That being said it’s a good movie, utterly carried by the relationship between the old Ellie and partner. The notion of your mother is my home is so poignant and although the ending is a bit ridiculous it did make me think back to the high partner mortality after one passes so the reality is that similar situations do indeed happen. Embarrassing I haven’t watched it earlier but glad I have done.
