The Hunger Games

It’s a crime this is the first time I’m watching the hunger games omg. I read the first book last year, in the worst time of my life (long story), so I’m kind of upset they missed some of my favourite parts. Like the whole storyline with Madge?? I thought it was so cute (and kind of hoped they would be a cute couple) and they replaced her with Greasy Sae -who also doesn’t exist? And the scene after they won, where Katniss is fighting guards to see Peeta when he’s taken away, I’m so sad they took that out. Literally the whole part after they won, in the hospital, Haymitch fighting for Katniss to not have cosmetic surgeries, and Peeta’s fake leg, poof.  I always imagined that Cinna was this camp, white, ginger, man, but it makes sense (and is honestly better) that he isn’t. In my head he was literally Danny Beard lol.  And I thought Rue was white?? I’m so happy she wasn’t, the actor was so pretty (don’t question why I imagined her white I was going through some shit and my brain wasn’t working) When the game ends, and Peeta and Katniss are being chased by the dog wolf things, I’m actually so thankful they cut out that the animals have the faces of tributes.  The scenes still made me very uncomfortable, but reading the book I was like close to crawling out of my skin and crying as a fleshy block of water on my carpet.  So that scene in the cave where Katniss and Peeta are laying on top of each other, and then the camera pans to the sunrise and Katniss lets out the typical post-hookup greeting. Something definitely happened I swear I’m not delusional Gale looks like he reposts ‘yearner core’ on TikTok. And he listens to Radiohead religiously.  And Haymitches bangs were serving Stephen Baldwin in the flintstones movie so bad 😭 Senecas beard was ultimate gender envy I fear. When I manage to grow facial hair that I don’t have to immediately shave off I will be recreating that  I’ve never really watched anything dystopian before (because I’ve never watched anything before lol) but I want to watch more because I loved this. I will be watching the other three films hopefully in the near future!!
