Boyhood

Richard Linklater has done it once again.
Boyhood is a film that tells a story of life through a child's eyes. It shows the ups and downs, and doesn't ever hesitate to hold back. The film made me feel like I was there the whole way through it with our main character Mason.
With a runtime of 2 hours and 45 minutes, it captures soooo so much. It feels so much longer than it actually is, which is honestly a good thing. The fact that Linklater was able to write a film, shoot scenes, and capture so much emotion over 12 years of filming is just such a strong feat.
This movie just has such an original idea, that if someone else were to replicate it, it just would not work. I applaud the whole cast for keeping the roles of these characters going for 12 straight years. Linklater is slowly becoming one of my all time favorite directors, and I can't wait to watch more of his work.
10/10 film.
