Deadpool & Wolverine
Even though Marvel hasn't been doing so hot when it comes to movies, I always enjoyed the Deadpool movies and I'm a huge fan of X-Men, so I was excited to see Hugh Jackman come back as Wolverine, and this movie did not disappoint at all.
Ryan Reynolds and Hugh Jackman have great chemistry together as Deadpool and Wolverine. Even with their promotion of the movie, I was just convinced that Hugh Jackman hated Ryan Reynolds, even though I know it was just all in jest. They were just really good at playing frenemies who beat the shit out of each other.
I love that this movie also serves as a tribute to the previous Marvel movies of the 90s/2000s when it was run under 20th Century Fox. It was just fun seeing the characters from previous films like Human Torch, Blade, Elektra, and X-23. However, my favorite character was Channing Tatum as Gambit, and it was just nice to finally see a live-action version of the character, not just because he's one of my favorite X-Men, but I've been dying to see him in the previous X-Men movies, and I know about the development hell when it came to making a Gambit movie, so seeing him was just so satisfying to watch.
The actions scenes did not disappoint either. Of course, it's just really violent, which is to be expected. The song choices made them hysterically funny. I can't even listen to Bye Bye Bye and Like A Prayer the same without thinking about those scenes. This movie is exactly what you'd expect in a Deadpool movie, and more, which still makes it fun to watch.
