Incendies

I knew Incendies was gonna be excellent as soon as the first key of You and whose army? by Radiohead started playing. Also read the play by Wajdi Mouawad a few years ago and I remembered everything so vividly. Watching the scenes I imagined by reading beforehand felt as traumatic as the first time I learned about this story. Denis Villeneuve directed perfectly: paces, atmospheres, impressions, accuracy of the story, aesthetically pleasing shots and framing, striking visuals, everything was on point. Not to mention the characters that are extremely well portrayed. I fear the lasting emotional impact this movie will bring is gonna be as powerful as the play.
