Would have been a better movie if it didn’t beat the dead horse of Covid era. Would have been a much more interesting movie if it just focused on the feud between the towns mayor and sheriff. It tries to be a time capsule of the era but for me kinda got killed by the absurd events that take place later in the movie. Austin Butlers character is unnecessary and everything with antifa is just frankly stupid. About 40 minutes too long. Well made? Sure, some exciting moments? Sure, but didn’t really land with me. Just felt kinda dumb and pointless. Explores all these issues from that time that we are still seeing the ramifications for today but doesn’t really say anything about them. Didn’t really need to be made especially this soon after that time.
