Throughout this movie I was wondering what separates it from the many other war movies out there, and I guess the biggest thing is how fragile peace actually is, and the commenting on the contradiction created when politicians say they work towards peace, but in reality their actions breed war (best represented in the billboard outside the camp that reads "Peace is our profession"). In this movie Kubrick also tries to expose the absurdity of world leaders, and how even when they supposedly have all the power, in reality it takes just one loose general to take the whole country into all out nuclear war. In his writing he also shows us how following these leaders affects the general population. This is best represented in Dr. Strangelove's character, who was so deeply scared and brainwashed by Hitler's rein that it became muscle memory to salute him. The cinematography in this movie was pretty good, not the best Stanley Kubrick movie visually speaking, but it did have some interesting shots nonetheless.

I expected a lot more from this movie. I don't know what, but the way people talk about this movie online, I would think it was a lot better. The action was good, the chases scenes especially, and the line "What's the most you've ever lost on a coin toss" is iconic, but besides that, I didn't feel a thing. I didn't really get what this was commenting on, or what the movie was supposed to be about, either than a crazy guy hunting someone down for money. All in all, wouldn't recommend. Don't trust the internet. (I can recognize that maybe after a second viewing I could see some stuff that I may have missed now, but for right now that's my opinion)
