FIVE STARS FOR QUOTING MARY OLIVER

i don't rewatch this often, but everytime it's sunny out i think of the sepia-toned/golden hue shots of this film, it's js so perfect to have it paired with temper trap's sweet disposition or regina spektor's us and also i know this is a love story, but when i first watched it, what i gathered is that... i haven't been paying attention to architecture! and now everywhere i go i try my best to look at buildings... forms, curves, lines, etc etc... i read somewhere that this film makes san francisco not look like san francisco and i've never been but i believe it :-P idk there's something so coastal european about this, it's like what dakota johnson said: the difference between a flower and a weed is perspective... not that sf is comparable to a weed obv but i guess some ppl just have the skill to transform a city? i think that's what film + cinematography is all about, like when we all thought a movie was set in nyc or what have u and it's just vancouver i love that for canadians anyway... plotwise... well this has been discoursed and politicized all i can offer is how i feel about this emotionally. it's true sometimes ur tom and sometimes ur summer. the thing with being summer is you're dehumanized... in a feminist-john berger ways of seeing kind of way??????? if that makes sense idk i hate being admired because i think well does this person see me for who i am or am i just a mirror/portal to their inner worlds + desires + self... am i seen? am i understood? or am i just this vessel... for this person's characte arc........... hm. think abt it. i think yeah this movie teaches us so much about admiration and that unhealthy projection we all get when we have a crush who listens to the same songs like us etc etc lame btw js bc u have the same spotify top artist doesn't mean ur soulmates.................. it has to weigh more than that or maybe not and i'm being mean to all the hopeless romantics... AHHH love will i ever understand u <3
