The Batman
Back in 2023 I started watching this movie, but after it's first 20 minutes or so it felt boring.
I've known this movie since it's release because it had quite the hype. I think that Nirvana's track really nacked the vibe of the movie, I like when directors use music other than those tracks that were made for the movie.
Robert Pattinson nailed this and he's a very good choice for Bruce Wayne/Batman - it's important because in this movie both personas are the same, there's no clear line between the two yet. This is important because I think in later part, Bruce Wayne's persona will have more screentime.
Gotham feels dark, gothic and crowded, the director nailed everything about it. Batman's suit and voice is very good, fortunately he can turn his neck, looks good in every shot.
The plot was very good, and Paul Dano really nailed his role too, he as Riddler was a great way to confront Batman's vengeance "cruade" as it's a really misinterpretable message and how it really messed up Gotham's status (Because of this aspect Riddler felt like a small reference to Heath Ledger's Joker in the second part of the Nolan's trilogy).
And also the way Colin Farrel behaves is really funny to watch, he was clearly mocking Batman and Gordon too but the most funny thing is that he was right, they misinterpreted The Riddler's riddle.
The alchemy between Batman and Catwoman is cute, it was more laid out than in the third part of *Nolan's trilogy.
Great first part without rushing Bruce Wayne's childhood trauma, his "start" was left to the viewers which is not that bad because almost everybody knows that story - as for the Nolan's trilogy* it was mandatory for Batman's character to have a curve.
Great movie, I'll look forward to the part 2
