Interstellar
I find myself returning to this film constantly, wondering if I’ll ever get bored of it. Short answer, I won’t.
This film changed how I watch and absorb film. Growing up, I just watched movies casually and enjoyed the action or comedy, which is great, but I lacked appreciation for the medium as a whole. Interstellar showed me the beauty of film and how a group of people can come together and create something magnificent, purely for the sake of our entertainment.
This movie isn’t action-packed or overly hilarious, but it is life-changing. Seeing the vastness of the space we live in from the perspective of these characters who are trying to save the human race not only puts our existence into perspective, but everything we know.
Matthew McConaughey gives a fantastic performance in this film, and I truly don’t see anyone else playing this character better than him. The visuals, the cinematography, THE SCORE BY HANS ZIMMER, everything about this movie is perfect. From beginning to end, I have nothing bad to say about this film. I laughed watching this movie. I cried watching this movie. I was speechless watching this movie. There is no other piece of media that I have ever consumed that has left a bigger mark on me than this film.
I am forever grateful to Christopher Nolan for creating this film. To those who have not seen Interstellar, watch it ASAP, and to those who have, watch it again, because I know I will.
