About Time
"We're all traveling through time together, every day of our lives. All we can do is do our best to relish this remarkable ride"
About time will forever be my favorite movie, it genuinely changed my perspective in life. We spend so much time rushing, worrying about what's next, or dwelling on the past, when there's actually so much beauty in just being here now, in the present. We’re so conditioned to think happiness is something we'll feel later. When we get that job, when we're in the 'right' relationship, when we have it all figured out. But happiness can truly be found in the ordinary days, in the conversations, the little laughs, the quiet moments. This movie reminded me that even the smallest moments, the late night walks with friends, dumb conversations, the quiet rides home, are the moments that make up our lives. It's not always about the big dreams or distant goals, it's about the little moments that we often overlook.
It made me realize how much of life I've missed because I was constantly waiting for something better. When in fact, right now is all I need. We can find strength in the simplicity of living day by day, and in doing so, discover the hidden beauty in our journey called life. A line that struck me was "Worrying about the future is as effective as trying to solve an algebra equation by chewing bubble gum. The real troubles in your life will always be things that never crossed your worried mind" We frequently get caught up worrying about possible problems that might never happen, while the real challenges we face often arise unexpectedly. This is because the future, is inherently uncertain, and no amount of worrying can prepare us for the surprises that life has in store.
It's easy for us to get lost in everything we think we should be, or what we think we should have by now. We're so hard on ourselves, constantly measuring up to some ideal, that we forget to appreciate the simple, precious moments unfolding right in front of us. Life, with all its imperfections, is worth cherishing. Life is not about perfection but about finding the extraordinary in the ordinary and appreciating the journey as it unfolds 🐈⬛️
