"I'm saying I'm an insect, who dreamt he was a man and loved it. But now the dream is over, and the insect is awake."

WOW! I don't know that much about the short story or the original movie this is based off of but this movie was amazing. It has the elements of a classic monster. I love how there is always a man obsessed with his work, the woman he loves, and another man who also loves the woman.
Jeff Goldblum's acting was so well done 👏 The execution of his lines and the mannerisms of a fly really elevated the whole performance.
I was not expecting it to be that horrific... it was clear that he was gonna become a mutated man and fly... but the way the director decided to go about it... it made me so grossed out. Praise to the makeup crew for creating such a realistic depiction of a man mutating in a life size fly. Gosh.
I really liked Seth at the beginning, and disliked the editor guy. This is a rare occurance where is flips, and I began rooting for Stathis (but I still don't like him bc he was weird at the beginning 🫤)
But this gave me major FMAB vibes -- when he first attempted to transport a live subject, I was not expecting him to use a monkey (I forgot what it was) and the result! Dude literally human transmutation vibes up in here. And then he pulled up with another one 😭 why does he have a supply of monkeys
Bro but that abortion scene... I was not expecting the baby to look like that 😭 i was releaved to find out it was a dream and Seth's whole transformation scene with his skin shedding to reveal a human fly 😭 ewww
And the melting of Stathis's hand and feet 😖 (bro there is no good emoji to express what I felt)
But the fact that Veronica still felt empathy... and didn't want to kill him, even I felt bad when he lifted the gun to his forehead.
