im very much appreciating the new trend of critiquing colonialism in sherlock holmes adaptations, and while this was simplistic and slightly confused HEY at least they tried. himesh patel as dr watson was inspired casting, very much appreciated his gentle paddington bear energy. everyone was coming for millie bobby browns gel nails, but have to say I hardly noticed,,, how about we just watch the movie guys its a netflix original what do we expect. less funny than the other ones :( however enola to me is now officially canon to the sherlock holmes multiverse and she will live on forever

netflix original slop? yes. but its so completely and utterly whimsical, actually makes me laugh, and sherlock holmes included???? its so delightful!! millie bobby brown is so charming as enola. a criticism though... if we're being woke why not go the whole hog? helena bonham carter and susan wokoma should be lesbian wives. and hey, maybe even canon johnlock?! (who said thattt....)

as much as I am fond of the hobbit this has to be 3 stars... the first one is just too peak to compare to this. it has some great action (obvi), and I love martin freeman as bilbo. all I can think of when smaug shows up are those motion capture clips of benedict cumberbatch doing too much but hey im not complaining. but altogether far too long and so many shoehorned in plots that are so unnecessary. the whole kili x tauriel plotline DRAGS

I dont think I took a breath that whole film oh my GOD. pure insanity, impossible to look away, did not feel like 3 hours at all. however, despite the grandiose excellence of this film, I I feel this had the potential hit harder emotionally. this is the kind of thing I should have cried to, but ultimately didn't despite all the grief and guilt
