Listen, it’s probably my fault that I went into it with Interstellar/Arrival/Gravity level expectations. I haven’t read the book, but I found the movie struggled to juggle the tone between the hopeless seriousness of humanity being doomed and the (at times unnecessary) bits of millennial humour. I found the score a bit disjointed (and the karaoke part a bit too on the nose). I liked Grace and Rocky’s friendship, but I truly felt like nothing was ever at stake because of the amount of time invested in them and how lovable they are together. I love Lord & Miller and couldn’t help but walk out a bit disappointed. Also 2 hours and 36 minute runtime is CRAZY. EDIT, PEOPLE!

The phrase ‘every frame a painting’ was probably created for this movie because MY GOD. Oh yeah and I’m deeply depressed now.

Two hours of being sad, trying to remember anything about Shakespeare’s Henry IV and being distracted by two of the most generational face cards to ever hit the big screen. That ending was incredible and will really stick with me.

This shit would never go down if y'all just let the two boys be boyfriends too but since y'all wanna be complete weenies about it, -I- will go spend eternity in Mountain World with Callum Turner!!
