Boyhood
Following the same cast over 12 years sounds like a gimmick on paper, but Linklater makes it feel like you’re accidentally gaining the memories of someone else’s life. One minute you're meeting these characters, the next you're watching their entire lives unfold before your eyes. Every character changes in ways that feel natural and intentional through all of the “awkward phases”. Mason grew up to be a real douchebag tho, huh?
