rewatching pride & prejudice when you’re older is actually a completely different experience. when i first watched it years ago, i thought it was just a romance, a cute one with amazing writing. now i realize it’s a story about assumptions, misunderstandings, judgment, and learning to truly see people for who they are. darcy is one of the most awkward men i’ve ever seen on screen and yet somehow every longing stare had me kicking my feet. bring back yearning. bring back pining. bring back men who know what they want and aren’t afraid to say it. my favorite thing about this movie is that nobody understands each other at first. everyone assumes, everyone judges, everyone gets things wrong. the romance only starts once they begin seeing each other clearly. also, the hand flex should have won an oscar. iconic. 5/5.

racine being the most like her father, and her being the one he pulled in with him?? And the lawyer saying that she looked like her dad in the eyes… helloooo i don’t understand why anyone wouldn’t understand the ending of this movie. i feel like throughout the movie there was tons of foreshadowing that one of the twins was going die. Racine being the twin who isn’t as afraid to kill ppl made it kinda obvious (i still gasped seeing her getting pulled in doe lmfao) this movie was amazing. I love the editing and also the voice overs added so much to the movie. Even the text to voice their thoughts was such a nice touch! I was conflicted with racine as a character, until i wasn’t. There would be a couple secs out of the flim where i felt like i agreed with anaia’s point about killing everyone but as soon as that through would come to mind i went back to racine pov and thought “they deserve ts” 😭! so interesting how i was able to connect with both characters view points! All the actors fucking killed it in this movie btw! ugh i love a good, raw, and honest flim such as this one. Also, so very unique!

I was told at least once in your life, especially in womanhood, you have to watch Uptown Girls. They were 100% right. I went in expecting a good time. I was NOT expecting to full on sob lmfaoo. But the moment everything came full circle.. her father, the teacups, seeing herself reflected back….the tears just came 😭😭. And Dakota Fanning?? Even as a child, her acting was just on par. She brought everything the role needed and then some. Absolutely incredible. Watching this at 19 hit differently too. Something about this story of growing up, letting go, and figuring out adulting just lands in a way I think only gets more personal the older you are. A must-watch.

I had a really good time watching the movie overall. jaafar jackson did an amazing job and really embodied michael. His performance felt very natural, and you could tell he put a lot into portraying himl!!! For me though, the movie sometimes felt more like a concert or music film rather than a full biography. I wish it focused a little more on michael’s life and story outside of the performances. I wanted to see more of the personal moments and experiences that shaped him. Hope to see the more in part 2 but i do understand that a lot had to be cut. Even with that, I still really enjoyed it and had a great time watching it. It was entertaining and the music and performances were definitely a highlight!!
