Minari
Love, like Grandma said about Minari, “is truly the best, it grows everywhere like weeds. So anyone can pick it and eat it.”
Love, like the snake, “It’s better to see it than have it hide, things that hide are more dangerous and scary.”
Jacob Yi started out his journey looking to make his dream farm, filled with Korean food for all of the people that moved to America. He soon became overwhelmed by his dream. Sinking all he can into this farm while Monica and her mother had to take care of everything else.
“Rich or poor, anyone can enjoy it and be healthy. It can be medicine if you are sick”
After the fire and her stroke, Monica’s mother started walking away. David, at first being unwelcoming to his grandmother, became very fond of her. She thought he was strong and encouraged him to do things he never was able to do, like running. David had a heart murmur, and he was told not to run. Then he saw his grandmother walking away. In one of the most emotional scenes I’ve ever seen, David ran after his grandmother. Full of love and admiration, he did the one thing that he was scared of doing.
God I love this movie.
