Apocalypse Now

A masterpiece from Coppola, and much more poetic than I expected; with blazing imagery, an unnerving performance from Sheen, and rock anthems turned siren songs that progress into the story's madness and ferocity. It encapsulates the eeriness of war that doesn't fully set in until we see the Do Lung Bridge and the deranged cycle that it represents. While not as historically representative, Apocalypse Now is as necessary as Full Metal Jacket when it comes to showcasing the conflict of war and its effects on the human psyche.
