Get Out
Get Out is what I think, Jordan Peele’s best application of dialogue and structuring to pioneer the idea of social/racial horror.
It’s just packed with details, narrative bread crumbs, and unsuspected twists that are really just impressive and fresh.
Rewatching this and already knowing the mystery is what really elevates this film. So much is casually hinted in the dialogue and character actions; there are many lines that practically have a double meaning, but will successfully fly over the heads of anyone watching for the first time. That’s where a lot of the genius lies.
Get Out just breathes simplistic greatness, and while I’m pretty confident that it’s still his magnum opus, I’m excited to see Nope to see how it compares.
