Stop Making Sense

Watched in IMAX (First time seeing AMC Tustin 14's new IMAX theater!) Perfectly paced and fit for Talking Heads’ energy and enthusiasm. Filmmaking is very present and the varying distance to the performers is very deliberate, making sure to not be in your face, but always letting the band fully express themselves and their individual sounds coming together as one. It has a dash of nostalgia with how stripped down their instruments are. No screens, crazy production, or elaborate stage design, just personal instruments and classic sound. Everyone is also quite plainly-dressed, almost speaking to how much simpler life was back in 1984. What a jam. You can really feel the music. It’s been a music-filled past 4 days for me: Green Day, Daft Punk’s Interstella 5555, Hans Zimmer Live, and now Stop Making Sense Off to Japan!
