Harakiri
"This thing we call samurai honor is ultimately nothing but a facade."Many movies are great but harakiri is it’s own experience. It spirals us watchers into a rural Japan, where your clans honor are the most important. Hanshiro Tsugomos acts and decisions where honorable and great and I think everyone would do exactly the same as he, if we where put into his shoes and of course had his remarkable skills. I hope Masaki Kobayashis other films are as extraordinary as this absolute masterpiece and I am thinking about starting with the Human Condition Trilogy, preferably on dvd.
