i mean it wasn’t bad, just very boring and that SUCKED because i liked the storyline. I don’t know if i was just distracted but i could hardly pay attention to it other than Ryan Gosling himself. I do love Ryan Gosling and somehow all he plays is hopeless, depressed characters Maybe i’ll like it more on a rewatch!?

Riz Ahmed can obtain the most powerful eyes, and an unbelievable amount of depth with the most minimal expressions and movement ever. It was effortless. I personally haven’t watched anything with Riz Ahmed in before but he is insane!! I loved the sound throughout to mirror and reflect obviously all the characters being deaf. I fucking despised how it didn’t translate like 80% of the sign language because i had severe fomo i had no clue what was being said BUT i guess it was that Ruben also couldn’t understand so it was pointless for us to ykwim! Such a sad storyline too, losing the thing (drums) that helped him out of bad time (heroin) and having to be his own reason to recover instead of turning back to his old ways  ALSO then realising that Lou did better without him, that he was destructing not only himself but who he loved (for nothing too cus he couldn’t find peace in the end 🥹) The ending was perfect!!!

there’s so many movies that everyone says is amazing only because everyone else is saying it’s amazing and i thought i’d think that about the truman show HOWEVER! it actually was amazing!  wasn’t expecting any less from Jim Carrey  I’d be lying if i say it didn’t deserve 5 stars because it was infact incredible
