Princess Mononoke
The beauty of this movie is genuinely ridiculous.
I have so much admiration for the drawing and animation here. Every single frame feels like it could be hung on a wall. The backgrounds, the characters, the forests, the creatures, everything is so detailed and alive that I sometimes forget I’m watching an animated film.
Honestly, Princess Mononoke is one of the only movies I could put on with no sound whatsoever and still be completely captivated. I could just sit there and watch the images move for two hours.
One of those movies where I’m less interested in explaining why I love it and more interested in just staring at it.
