Wonder Man

Matinee 7.5/10** SPOILERS BELOW!!!!!! I’m honestly kind of shocked by how much I loved Wonder Man. The acting and writing are genuinely great, and that’s something I don’t always say about MCU shows. A lot of people don’t love the “low stakes” angle, and I get it we’re used to universe ending threats. But I’m kind of mixed on that criticism because when you really think about it, in Avengers Endgame you know they’re going to defeat Thanos. There’s never a real doubt about that. Here though, Simon could genuinely go to jail. I honestly like the lower stakes. It makes everything feel more grounded and character driven instead of spectacle driven. A huge reason it works is because Simon is such a well written character. You care about him. You understand him. He feels human. So when his freedom is on the line, it actually matters. Simon and Trevor’s dynamic is easily one of the best parts of the show. Trevor’s motivations feel so human you understand where he’s coming from even when you don’t agree with him. That tension makes every interaction between them compelling. You don’t want Simon to go to jail because he’s genuinely a good guy, but you can also see why Trevor does what he does. I also want to talk about the action sequences, although there aren’t many they are great. The cinematography is also pretty good, especially for an MCU TV show. It’s up there with Loki. I just love the story and these characters so much. This is easily one of my favorite MCU shows for sure.  GIVE ME THE WONDER MAN MOVIE  GIVE ME WONDER MAN SEASON 2
