I’m a tech bro who studied philosophy. Of course I love The Matrix.
In reality, this movie is so influential it seems prescient. The Wachowskis took Beaudillard and made it pop culture. Their stylistic choices reshaped fashion, music, and our imagination of an increasingly digital culture.
This is a deeply flawed piece of art, at pretty much every level. But I struggle to think of anything so singularly influential upon my lifetime
I have infinite respect and inifinte criticism. Talk to me about it sometime, I can’t yap about it enough
