Oh I see why this is seminal text now. God this thing is just so lean, absolutely no fluff, just incredible; twisted, creative, and so so stylish. The editing is what really sticks out for me here, the soundscape, transitions, sporadic closeups and color gradients are astonishing. Holy last 15 minutes. Mind you this would probably be a 5 star movie if it wasn’t for peacock w/ ads being actually unwatchable. 12 ad breaks in a 85 minute movie is fucking criminal.

Guy next to me shows up 10 minutes late and goes “Damn I must’ve missed something important”. Nope buddy that’s just the film. Gorgeous and visually compelling, full of imagination and unreal texture. First time I watched this was in college. I was blackout drunk with my roommate and we sat horizontally on his bed while viewing the movie on his oversized computer monitor. My memory of that experience is hazy, and yet I cannot say I understood the film any more a second time around. What a feat. Happy birthday David Lynch!

Cute once you look past the fact that they’re stalking Tom Hanks for the entire movie and also his son Jonah is a 42 year old man in disguise
