Princess Mononoke
I wanted to start off with something unrelated yet very important to my viewing of this movie, that stupid AI Ghibli trend. It feels ironic that such an obviously environmentalist movie starts screening right when ChatGPT releases its next stupid feature. AI as of now deserves no place near art because it cannot and should not replace nor mimic absolute masterpieces like this movie. Princess Mononoke is as magical as any Ghibli movie and being able to first experience this in a theatre is an absolute blessing. Every frame is so delicately drawn from the bizarre animals, to the smallest pebbles flying in the air. Ghibli movies have such a unique tone I have never seen ever done, these movies are truly entrancing experiences that almost any person can find even the slightest value in. The scope of this movie is just insane and deserves to be seen on the biggest screen possible, and I’m hoping more Ghibli movies receive the treatment of a 4K IMAX release. Go support real art and not stupid AI slop
